In Understanding the world (History), we explored the question: “Are all families the same?” We each brought in a family photo to share with the class and talked about the different people in our families and their roles. It was lovely to see how every family is special and unique.
As part of our learning, we also carried out some simple data collection about our families. We represented each family member using different colours to clearly show that no two families are the same. This helped us to celebrate the diversity in our classroom and to understand that families come in many different shapes and sizes.
