🌍🏡 This week, we have been learning about our local area! 🏡🌍

We explored where we live and discovered that everyone lives in a different house and that we come from different towns. Most of us live in Sutton-in-Ashfield, while others live in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Mansfield. This helped us learn more about our local community and where our friends live. 🏠

We also explored different maps 🗺️ and identified key features such as water, grass, roads and buildings. We then looked at maps of Sutton and found important local landmarks, including Sutton Lawn, the reservoir, Kings Mill Hospital and Asda.

Using Google Maps, we were able to locate these places and compare them with what we could see in real life. During our walk to the library, we spotted some of the landmarks we had already explored on our maps, helping us make links between maps and the world around us. It was a fantastic way to develop our understanding of our local environment and the community we are part of. 🗺️🚶‍♂️📚😊
