Autumn
How can one event change your life?
In Autumn term, Year 3 have a Geography focus in our Enquiry and writing lessons. The children's learning is focused around our class text, Pompeii.
The children use this to learn about the environmental regions and the physical and human characteristics of geography that are found in Italy. The children learn about volcanoes and earthquakes and identify similarities and differences between Italy and the UK. The children use their learning to write a narrative (setting description of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius), a non-chronological report about Italy, instructions to help someone survive a natural disaster and a cinquain poem about a natural disaster.
Science
In Autumn Term in Year 3, we learn about forces and magnetism. The children will work scientifically to learn about friction, pushes and pulls and how magnets work and attract different materials.
