In Spring term, Year 2 have a history focus in our enquiry and writing lessons. Our class text is "The Railway Children" by E. Nesbit.

Throughout the enquiry, children will learn to become historians who ask questions about primary and secondary historical sources in order to gain an understanding of the past. They will learn that events can be interpreted in different ways and will begin to look at how we can use the source of information to help us determine truth.

In science, children will learn all about the uses of everyday materials. They will identify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday materials, including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and cardboard for particular uses. They will also find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching.
