Can one person change the world?

In Autumn term, Year 2 have a geography focus in our enquiry and writing lessons. The children's learning is focused around our class texts: Someone Swallowed Stanley and Ducks Overboard!

The children use these texts to learn about how plastic waste is littering our oceans and threatening the lives of millions of marine animals. Throughout the enquiry, children will learn to become thoughtful citizens who recycle correctly and who encourage others to do the same. They will understand that our actions have an impact on the environment and will explore recyclable art sculptures and music as a way of communicating this to the world.

In science, children will learn all about animals including humans. The children will learn how animals are suited to the habitats in which they live, what all living things need to survive and will be able to create simple food chains.
