Autumn Term - England
In Understanding the World (Geography), we have been learning about where we live. We found out that we live in a country called England, which is part of the United Kingdom. We used atlases, globes, and Google Maps to help us find England and learn more about its location in the world. We learned that we speak English, the capital city is London, and our monarch is King Charles. We also discovered that England can sometimes be hot in the summer. As part of our learning, we explored some of London’s famous landmarks and created our own England flags to celebrate what we had learned about our country.
After learning about King Charles, in Expressive Arts and Design (Art), we created our own portraits of the King. We looked closely at images of him and used the correct colours to make our pictures as accurate as possible.
