This week Reception explored the magic of colour! 🎨

They learnt that the primary colours are red, blue, and yellow, and discovered how mixing them creates new colours.  Red and blue made purple, red and yellow turned into orange, and blue and yellow turned into orange, and blue and yellow became green. They had lots of fun creating their own colour mixes and even worked together, mixing colours using a friend’s hand. 

They also learnt that adding white makes a colour lighter and adding black makes it darker. The children used this knowledge to mix and create different light and dark shades of green 💚
