Fruit

This week the children have been investigating fruit and learning more about where it comes from and why it is important for us. We explored a range of real fruits and talked about their colours, shapes and textures. The children learned that fruit grows on plants and trees when they get water and sunshine.

We sorted different fruits and discussed what makes them healthy for our bodies. The children confidently shared which fruits they like and noticed how each one is different.

We also looked at artwork by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an artist who used fruit to create faces and pictures. The children enjoyed spotting the different fruits in his work and then created their own fruit‑face pictures inspired by his style.
