Mixed media self-portraits
A local artist, Jo, into school to work with the children on a fantastic creative project. The class took part in a full day of mixed media art, exploring a range of materials and techniques to develop their ideas.
The children printed using paint , experimented with oil pastels , and used tissue paper and card to build texture and depth in their work. They then used these skills to create expressive self-portraits inspired by the style of Frida Kahlo . The focus was on self-expression and individuality, with the children encouraged to think carefully about what makes them unique.
