In Understanding the World (History), we explored the question, "Are all families the same?" We each brought in a family photo to share with the class and talked about the different people in our families and the important roles they play. It was lovely to see how every family is special and unique.

As part of our learning, we also carried out some simple data collection about our families. We represented each family member using different colours to show that no two families are the same. This helped us to celebrate the diversity within our classroom and develop our understanding that families come in many different shapes and sizes.

Through sharing our photographs and discussions, the children learnt that while families may look different, they are all important and special in their own way.
