World Book Day - Performance Poetry
Just a quick reminder that next Thursday is World Book Day.
We have asked the children to come to school dressed up as book characters or in pyjamas. The theme of our day will be performance poetry and the children will be reading, writing and performing poems! To get us in the mood, we are going to be visited by a brilliant performance poet on Wednesday; Paul Cookson has sold over three quarters of a million books and his poems appear in over two hundred other books. He has worked as a poet since 1989 and since then has visited thousands of schools and performed to hundreds of thousands of pupils and staff. Paul is also the official Poet In Residence for the National Football Museum. I am sure he is going to be brilliant and will really inspire the children!
We will use this website to update you on all the fun things we do for World Book Day.
